Tsūtenkaku

Tsutenkaku (Japanese通天 阁) is the name of a 103 meter high transmission and observation tower near the JR West railway station Shin- Imamiya in the district of Naniwa Japanese Osaka, whose landmark it forms.

The steel truss tower was built in 1956 as the successor of 1912 and 1943, the dismantled tower, which had the Eiffel Tower as a model. The new tower is inspired by this design, his appearance is, however, considerably more sober and functional maintained. The multi-storey view floors are in 84 meters and 87 meters in height. Using two colors on top of the tower he gives the weather forecast for the day ahead.
