TT-Line

TT -Line ( originally: TT- Line ) is a Lübeck ferry company, named after the initials of the two connected ports Travemünde and Trelleborg.

Company History

The Travemünde- Trelleborg - line ( TT- Line ) was founded in 1962 by the shipowner JA Reinecke, who also took over the management of ships. On the ships of the second generation, the tramp GmbH & Co. KG and the Iduna - insurance companies were involved. From 1 October 1967, the management of ships on the OHG Travemünde -Trelleborg - line ( TT- Line ) was transferred GmbH & Co. and Reinecke's shares went on the shipping company Aug. Bolten Wm Miller's successor. The tramp GmbH & Co. KG now held 83 % and Aug. Bolten, Wm Miller 's Nachfolger (GmbH & Co.) KG 16% of the TT-Line. The management was TT-Line GmbH & Co. KG, the two partners owned in equal parts.

TT- Line operates since 1962 a ferry service between Travemünde in Schleswig- Holstein and Trelleborg in southern Sweden.

In 1977, the shareholders of the TT- line for half of the shipping company Olau Line, which they took over in 1979 finally fully involved. Olau Line operate until 1994 high quality ferry service with two ships between the Dutch Vlissingen and Sheerness in southern England. The high German Heuer rates could no longer be followed to an operation.

In 1980, the German TT- line founded, together with the Swedish saga Linjen, a subsidiary of the Swedish State Railways, the TT- Saga Line. With a shared pool of six ships, the Swedish ports Trelleborg, Malmö and Helsingborg were started from Travemünde. Two years later, in 1982, which connections to Malmö and Helsingborg have been set, and it concentrated its activities on the route Travemünde- Trelleborg. 1991 Saga Linjen pulled (now renamed Swedcarrier ) from the pool back. Their shares were acquired by the Swedish shipping company Gotlandsbolaget, which in turn, however, the end of 1992 again left the pool. Whereas the German partner of TT-Line was the sole operator of the ferry service between Travemünde and Trelleborg.

Together with the DSR Rostock GmbH is a ferry service between Trelleborg and Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern has been since 1992 under the name " TR -Line" operated. In 1996, TT-Line Shares of DSR Rostock and served from then on the Rostock-Trelleborg route alone, now also under the brand name "TT -Line".

2006, the corporate headquarters was moved to Hamburg Lübeck- Travemünde.

Early 2013 took over Arend Oetker and Bernhard Termühlen that previously on the tramp GmbH & Co. KG were involved in the TT-Line, the shares of the shipping company Aug. Bolten Wm Miller's successor as well as all shares of the tramp and now hold an equal number of 50 % all shares of TT-Line.

Since January 2014, the conjunction between Swinoujscie (Poland) and Trelleborg is offered. As part of the connection is set to Helsingborg and heavily customized roadmaps for the two existing routes. In addition, the cruise line has a FGD ordered as a pilot installation at Wärtsilä, which is to be installed in the summer of 2014.

By mid- December 2013, Route Travemünde - Helsingborg offered. The designated exclusively for freight route was from the ferries Robin Hood and Nils Dackegrottan (both built in 1995 ) served on Saturdays in rotation.

Peter Pan and Nils Holgersson

The ferries Peter Pan ( V) and Nils Holgersson (VI ) were acquired in 2001 for the ferry Travemünde - Trelleborg put into service. The largely identical ships are equipped with restaurant, fitness center, cinema and shop. In the cabins are located bathroom with shower and toilet, hairdryer and telephone. The two ships are so-called " Green Ships ". They are equipped with modern and environmentally friendly diesel-electric pod drives. The Nils Holgersson was given in August 2000, commissioned and delivered in July 2001. The Peter Pan was given in March 2001 in order, delivered in October 2001 and put into service. It offered both day and night driving, which at night is normally operated at a reduced speed.

Robin Hood and Nils Dackegrottan

Since 1995, TT-Line is the first " Green Ships " Robin Hood (II ) and Nils Dackegrottan (II ) on the Travemünde- Trelleborg - line, which replaced the getting on in years ships Saga star and TT -Traveller. They were built at Finn Yards in Rauma and in October 1995 ( Nils Dackegrottan ) or put into service in December 1995 (Robin Hood). They are equipped with environmentally friendly diesel-electric propulsion.

Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn

The two combo ferries Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn today serve the traffic Rostock - Trelleborg, for which they were 2001/2002 rebuilt. They were built already 1988/1989 as a combined Eisenbahn-/Fracht- and passenger ferries MS Nils Dackegrottan and MS Robin Hood for the connection Travemünde - Trelleborg. 1993/1994 was carried out at Masa Yards in Turku, Finland, the conversion to passenger ferries. The continued traffic as a Peter Pan IV and V Nils Holgersson between Travemünde and Trelleborg ships were extended passenger decks who received the gastronomy and more cabins. After delivery of the new buildings in 2001, both ships in the SSW ferry and special ships GmbH in Bremerhaven were scaled back to Ro-Pax ferries. The Tom Sawyer (ex Robin Hood, Nils Holgersson V) was delivered in October, the Rostock- service back in 2001 and Huckleberry Finn (ex Nils Dackegrottan, Peter Pan IV) in January 2002.

Nils Holgersson I (1962-1967)

With the commissioning of the Nils Holgersson on March 28, 1962 the regular and year-round ferry service between Travemünde and Trelleborg was opened. The ship could carry 900 passengers and put about 200 beds available. Furthermore, the Nils Holgersson 120 cars or 10 trucks could carry and had a promotion in the first year performance of 68 268 passengers, 18,000 cars and 541 trucks

Peter Pan I (1965-1973)

In 1965, the Peter Pan was placed in service. She was the first ship of the second generation, could carry 850 passengers and had 360 Sleeps. In the hold had 230 cars and 22 trucks and 30 passenger space. In 1973, the Peter Pan I is renamed Panther and sold to P & O, which began the ship in the English Channel.

Nils Holgersson II (1967-1975)

In 1967 Nils Holgersson was found to be sister ship of Peter Pan II in the service and had the same capacities as the Peter Pan. The Nils Holgersson I was renamed the mid-1970s in Gosta Berling and handed over to the shipping company operating in the Mediterranean.

Peter Pan II (1974-1986)

The Peter Pan II was built in 1974 at Nobis Krug in Rendsburg. She was 149 feet long, measured 12,600 gross tons and could accommodate 1,800 passengers. This was in service even after putting her successor Peter Pan III as Robin Hood until 1987. Subsequently, it was sold to the Greek Minoan Lines and inserted into the Adriatic. 1992/93 the TT-Line chartered the ship for four months back. Among the names Guido and Ouzoud followed by other operations in the Mediterranean area until the ship was transferred in March 2010 for scrap to India.

Nils Holgersson III (1975-1984)

The Nils Holgersson III was asked the same design as the Peter Pan II in service. The Nils Holgersson II was renamed the Oliver Twist and used in the summer shuttle service between Helsinki / Danzig / Tallinn and Rønne. In 1984 the ship was sold to Tasmania.

Oliver Twist (1975-1977) and Robin Hood I (1977-1979)

The Oliver Twist opened the ferry service between Travemünde and Helsingborg and between Travemünde and Copenhagen. This ferry service was discontinued in 1978. The Dana Sirena was chartered in 1977 in the summer months and as Robin Hood in the service of Travemünde - used Tallinn - Ronne, Travemünde - Danzig and Travemünde - Helsinki. She had a capacity of 622 passengers, 622 cars and 150 beds in 1980 was replaced the Robin Hood I by the Robin Hood II (formerly Espresso Olbia ).

Robin Hood II (1980-1986) and Robin Hood III (1986-1987)

The Robin Hood II was (formerly Peter Pan II) replaced in 1986 by the Robin Hood III. In 1987 this was replaced by the Wind Saga.

Peter Pan III (1986-1993)

The Peter Pan III was put into service and replaced the Peter Pan II (which replaced the Robin Hood until 1987 and was then replaced by the saga wind). The ship has a capacity of 1600 passengers and around 1,200 beds. In the hold were 550 cars or 120 truck space. After decommissioning, the ship was sold to Tasmania. Since the end of May 2007, driving for DFDS first as Princess of Norway and since 2011 as Princess Seaways between IJmuiden and Newcastle together with the identical sister ship, the King Seaways.

Nils Holgersson IV (1987-1993)

The Nils Holgersson IV reversed the Swedish flag and the pool partner Swedcarrier ( founded in 1980 as TT- Saga Line and renamed in 1984 ). The capacities are the same as those of Peter Pan III. The ship was sold to Brittany Ferries and used after extensive remodeling as Val de Loire. Since early 2006, it runs for DFDS Seaways, first as King of Scandinavia and since 2011 as King Seaways between IJmuiden and Newcastle.

Robin Hood and Nils I Dackegrottan I (1988-1993)

The two combined Eisenbahn-/Frachtfähren Robin Hood and Nils Dackegrottan were delivered and replaced the Star Saga and the Saga wind. The capacity of the two ships was 36 rail cars and 100 trucks or 150 trucks and 250 passengers.

Peter Pan IV and V Nils Holgersson (1993-2001)

The two ships Robin Hood and Nils Dackegrottan be rebuilt in 1993 as a passenger and freight ferry and used as a Peter Pan IV and V Nils Holgersson between Travemünde and Trelleborg. The capacity was after conversion with 1244 passengers, 1025 beds, 535 cars and 110 trucks as a substitute for Robin Hood and Nils Dackegrottan the saga Star and the TT -Traveller chartered and put into service.

Robin Hood II and Nils Dackegrottan II ( since 1995)

In November and December of 1995, the two " Green Ships " Robin Hood and Nils Dackegrottan were delivered and put into service. The two new buildings replaced the Saga Star and the TT -Traveller on the route Travemünde - Trelleborg. The saga Star and the TT -Traveller have been on the Rostock - Trelleborg used further. The two ships have a capacity of 300 passengers, 317 beds and up to 150 trucks

Dolphin (1996-2005)

Designed as a fast ferry catamaran dolphin was on the route Rostock - Trelleborg used and shortened the journey time to less than three hours. The catamaran has a capacity of 600 passengers, 175 cars ( or 4 buses 124 cars or 10 buses 34 cars). The Dolphin was sold in 2005 and then used in the Red Sea.

Peter Pan V and VI Nils Holgersson (since 2001)

The entered service in 2001, new buildings Peter Pan V and VI replaced the Nils Holgersson in the tooths ships Peter Pan IV and V. Nils Holgersson

Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn ( since 2002)

The ships Peter Pan IV and V Nils Holgersson were rebuilt in the Bremerhaven SSW yard and used under the name Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn between Rostock and Trelleborg. These two ships replace the Saga Star and the TT -Traveller.
