Tuku (Peru)

The Tuco or Nevado de Tuco is a mountain summit in the South American Andes in Peru.

The Nevado de Tuco with a height of 5454 m (according to other sources: 5479 m) is one of the southernmost summit in the snow-capped Cordillera Blanca in the northwestern central Peru.

Neighboring peaks are Challhua ( 5,476 m), the Juchuraju ( 5,392 m), the Pastoruri ( 5,240 m), Santon ( 5,256 m) and the Queullaraju ( 5,603 m). Further south in the Cordillera Blanca is only the Rajuluna with 5,360 m.

On the southern flank of Tuco arises in one of the glacial lakes of the Rio Tuco, who is with a length of 30 kilometers of main tributary of Laguna Conococha from which flows from the Río Santa along the Cordillera Blanca in the Pacific.
