Tulymsky Kamen

The Tulýmski Kámen (Russian Тулымский камень ) is a mountain range in the northern Urals and 1496 m ( according to other sources 1469 m) the highest peak in the Perm region (Russia).

The 35 km long and up to seven kilometers wide mountain range located in the northeastern part of the Perm region in a nature reserve Wischera - Sapowednik. The mountain range is up to 45 degrees steep slopes, particularly the slopes on the east side can be avalanches in winter. Snowfields can be durable for the summer season on the mountain.

Up to a height of about 700 meters above sea level, dominates the spruce taiga, also find themselves still birch krummholz and tundra vegetation. The springing on the mountain rivers and streams flow into the Wischera, which flows along the foot of the Tulymski Kamen.

The name of the mountain probably comes from the Tatar word tulym, which designates outstanding from a river stones.
