Tumut Hydroelectric Power Station

The Tumut - hydropower plants are located in one of the largest water dams of the earth, the Snowy Mountains Hydro - system. The three hydropower plants shall be called Tumut 1, 2 and 3 Power Station. There are three of seven hydroelectric power plants. The three Tumut - hydro power plants are located on the Tumut River in New South Wales, Australia.

Stations

Tumut -1 hydropower plant

The Tumut 1 called hydroelectric power plant has four turbines to generate electrical energy with a capacity of 329.6 megawatts. The station was commissioned in 1959 in the company and has 292.6 meters fall height. The Queen of England visited the building in 1963.

Tumut -2 hydropower plant

The Tumut 2 called hydroelectric power plant was completed in 1962, also has four turbines and a capacity of 286.4 megawatts.

Tumut -3 Hydropower Plant

Tumut 3 has six turbines with a capacity of 1,500 megawatts and is the most powerful. This hydroelectric power station was completed in 1973 and is able to work as a pumped storage power plant. In July 2009, this hydroelectric power plant was renewed and was temporarily out of service.
