Tuncay Özkan

Tuncay Özkan (* 1966 in the Turkish province of Erzurum ) is a journalist, politician, and was the owner of the Turkish channel channel Turk. He worked in 1984 in the newspaper Hürriyet, later moving to Cumhuriyet. He is the author of more than a dozen books in Turkish.

Özkan was found in the so-called Ergenekon proceedings by the court of law to be part of a conspiracy against the Islamic conservative AKP government and therefore sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released after six years in prison on March 10, 2014 from the prison in Silivri.
