Tung Ying-chieh

Dong Yingjie (Chinese董英杰, Pinyin dǒng Jie Ying, Tung Ying Chieh W.-G. ) ( born November 8, 1898 Ren county of Hebei province, China, † 1961) was an influential teacher of Taijiquan.

In his youth, Dong Yingjie was characterized by high intelligence. His health was weak. He was interested in his youth for martial arts. Compared with Liu Ying Zhou, a friend of the famous Taijiquan master Lao Yang Zhen from Canton, he replied to the question of his life goals: "I want to be a master of Taijiquan to strengthen my health and me being able to defend themselves. If I have success with it, I want to spread the martial arts world. " Liu Ying Zhou admired these ambitions and declared Dong Yingjie therefore some basic exercises. Due to its age of over 70 years, however, he was not able to even pretend the exercises. Zeng Li Kui, a student of Yang Lao, instructed a few months later Dong Yingjie in the 13 basic techniques of Taijiquan.

A year later, Master Liu took the young Dong Yingjie on a journey to the master of the Wu / Hao - style ( "Old Wu style " ) Li Xiang Yuan. This took Dong Yingjie as his student.
