Tuniberg

The Tuniberg is a limestone elevation in Breisgau, dedicated to 312.4 m above sea level. NHN barely rises above the Upper Rhine Valley, which is here about 190 m above sea level.

Geography

The Tuniberg im Breisgau, between the Black Forest and the Rhine, and is considered the little brother of the more famous emperor chair, even though it is built geologically completely different. It has a north-south extent of about nine kilometers and an east- west distance of three kilometers. Around the Tuniberg the boroughs Merdingen and God Home, belonging to Freiburg im Breisgau neighborhoods Waltershofen, Opfingen, Tiengen and Munzingen, and Oberrimsingen and Niederrimsingen belonging to Breisach.

Agriculture

In the majority here limestone soils, with loess and Lehmauflagen mainly grow Burgundy grape varieties which enjoy the water storage capacity of the limestone. Since 1996, the Tuniberg is wine structurally separated from the emperor chair. Apart from the wine, especially asparagus and corn on Tuniberg are worth mentioning.

Leisure and Tourism

The Tuniberg is a destination for many vineyard hikers, Nordic walkers and cyclists and has been for some time a tip for liner and Nordic Blader.
