The Lords of Tunkl (also Tunkel / Tunckel, Dunkl / dark; Tunkl of Brünnles and chief city; Tunkl of city and Hohen Aschbrunn; Czech Tunklové z Brníčka a ze Zábřeha ) was a Silesian- Moravian nobility. History

The Lords of Tunkl are first detected for the end of the 14th century in Silesia, where they were well off in the Duchy of Legnica. Hartel of Tunkel was in 1332 in possession of the festivals in the Duchy of Opava Štítina. An eponymous Hartel / Hertel by Tunkel / Dunckel is as steward of Legnica Duchess Ludmilla, daughter of the Bohemian King George of Podiebrad and widow of Duke Frederick I of Legnica, is for the year 1490.

In the first half of the 15th century, the Tunkl acquired large areas in northern Moravia.
