Turbinicarpus bonatzii

Turbinicarpus bonatzii is a flowering plant in the genus Turbinicarpus from the cactus family ( Cactaceae ).

Description

Turbinicarpus bonatzii grows individually with dark green, depressed spherical to spherical bodies and has a short, thick taproot. The body can reach diameter of 1.5 to 2 centimeters. Your cusps are conical to rhomboid. There is a single brown central mandrel having a length of 12 to 25 millimeters available. The 1-2 radial spines are white with a darker tip and 3-5 millimeters long.

The pink flowers have brighter edges. They are up to 1 inches long, and have diameters of 1.2 to 1.5 centimeters. The roundish, greenish fruits are fleshy at maturity.

Systematics, distribution and hazard

Turbinicarpus bonatzii is common in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí. The first description was in 1992 by Frank Gerhart. Little is known about the species. Turbinicarpus bonatzii be listed in Annex I of the CITES Convention. In the Red List of Threatened Species IUCN was founded in 2002 as " Endangered ( EN ) ', ie endangered classified. In the 2009 update, the species was not re-evaluated and removed from the red list.
