Türk Telekom GSK

Telekomspor Türk is a Turkish sports club from Ankara. Sporting successes achieved by the club in football, basketball and volleyball. Former department was disbanded in the summer of 2011 and latter department in the summer of 2009.

History

The club was founded in 1954 under the name Spor Kulübü PTT ( PTT briefly SK or only PTT), the club's colors at that time were black and yellow. In 1998 the club name was changed to Türk Telekomspor. The club colors are blue and white turquoise since then.

Basketball

The Basketball Division of Lords is represented in the Türkiye Ligi Basketbol since 1991. 1996/97 they took part in the Cup Winners' Cup, in 2004 it was the first time represented in the ULEB Cup. Biggest club success in 2008 was winning the Turkish Basketball Cup.

Football

History

In the 1959/60 season, the football team participated for the first time in club history at the Süper Lig. The team stayed for eleven years in the top division in Turkish football. They played 1971/72 a season in the 2nd league and returned to the Süper Lig. In the 1972/73 season it was back in the second league. Then we went down for PTT. In the season 1974/75 they played in the amateur league.

1983 PTT returned back to the second league. In the 2008 /09 season the team played in the 3rd league.

League membership

Türk Telekomspor played twelve years in the first Turkish league, in the Eternal Table of the Süper Lig club occupies the 32nd place.

Volleyball

2007/ 08 and 2008/ 09 participated in the volleyball department of women in the Champions League. 2009, the department was terminated, however.
