Turkish general election, 1961
The election to the National Assembly in Turkey in 1961 was held on October 15, 1961, together with the election to the Senate of the Republic. It was the first general elections after the military coup of 1960 and since the entry into force of the new Constitution.
It 447 male and three female MPs were elected by the people. This is a women's share of 0.67 % and makes the lowest percentage of the republican Parliament in relation to the participation of women.
