Turkish Statistical Institute

The Türkiye istatistik Kurumu, abbreviated TÜİK, international TURKSTAT, is the National Statistical Office in Turkey, headquartered in Ankara.

It collects and analyzes as statistical information on the economy, demography, society and the environment of Turkey. The processed information is updated daily published in 26 statistics. In particular, working closely with the Eurostat together today, as in the implementation of EU-compatible NUTS system (NUTS: TR ).

1926 TÜİK was founded as Merkezi istatistik Dairesi. In 2005 it was renamed in Türkiye istatistik Kurumu and led since then by Dr. Ömer Demir. The statistics institute is affiliated to the Prime Minister Office of Turkey.
