Tweetbot

Tweetbot is a third-party client for the social network Twitter. The program is available in three different versions, one for the iPhone and iPod touch, the iPad, and a version for OS X.

History

Tweetbot was originally on April 14, 2011 by Tapbots, LLC. released for the iPhone in the App Store. The app is constantly improved with updates. Therefore, it is now possible to switch between multiple Twitter accounts to see thumbnails of images and YouTube videos in the timeline and to receive push messages.

On 8 February 2012, a specially adapted version for the iPad was released. The different versions are synchronized while on the iCloud from Apple, so that tweets can be displayed read on all devices than ever.

In June 2012, an alpha version for OS X was announced. Since 18 October 2012, a final version of Tweetbot for Mac is available. The program includes all the basic functions of the iOS app.

In October 2013 " Tweetbot 3" for the iPhone was released. The app has a custom design on iOS 7. This version is not a free update for previous versions Tweetbot, but must be purchased again.

As part of the Tapbots design philosophy, the app is described with the slogan " A Twitter Client with Personality ". All programs by Tapbots emulate friendly robots to aid the user.

Reception

Tweetbot mostly received positive reviews from critics. The Mac version is praised as the best desktop Twitter client. The iOS version convinced. Praise is usually the great features and a great design.
