The Twente channel ( nld. Twentekanaal ) is a Dutch waterway that connects the Overijsselsche landscape Twente to the Geldersche Issel. The 47 km long main branch joins in Zutphen on the Issel and ends in Enschede. A 16 km long sub-branch leaves the main branch at Delden and ends in Almelo, where he has connection to the Overijsselse channels.

History

On 3 and 4 April 1945, the Canadian Lincoln and Welland Regiment fought at the Twente canal associations against the Wehrmacht, who had entrenched themselves there. On the evening of April 4, the fight was ended; the regiment moved into Delden.
