Twine (website)

Twine (from English " twine ", " cord / wrapping " ) was a website for free linking of knowledge networks. The aim of Twine was the concrete knowledge exchange between the different users, and it was not about how Web 2.0 applications, who you know, but about what you know. This aspect thus embodies precisely those ideas which are behind the Semantic Web ( also referred to as Web 3.0 ).

Twine was founded by Nova Spivack, CEO of Radar Networks, Semantic Web startup based in San Francisco. The official launch of Twine was the service was funded in October 2008. Investors, such as by Velocity Interactive Group, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Vulcan.

On March 11, 2010 were acquired together with twine for an undisclosed sum Radar Networks of Evri Inc.. Since May 14, 2010 twine.com is no longer supported. Calls are diverted to evri.com. Evri Inc. is funded by Paul Allen's Vulcan Inc. affiliated companies.
