Tyler Winklevoss

Tyler Howard Winklevoss ( born August 21, 1981 in Southampton ) is an American rower, entrepreneur and venture capitalist.

Winklevoss studied at Harvard and Oxford. In December 2002, he founded with his twin brother Cameron and fellow students Divya Narendra, the social network ConnectU. In 2004, he sued along with his twin brother Mark Zuckerberg with the accusation that stole the Facebook idea of ConnectU. The dispute ended with a comparison of 65 million U.S. dollars.

2008 he and his brother in the coxless pairs at the rowing competitions at the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing part and there occupied the 6th place. The following year, he finished with the U.S. eighth to ninth place at the World Rowing Championships.

Together with his brother Tyler leads a venture capital firm. In April 2013, the two brothers said they had invested 11 million U.S. dollars in the crypto- currency Bitcoin. In June 2013, it announced that they want to establish a trust fund for Bitcoins, so as to facilitate the investment in Bitcoins for non- computer savvy investors.
