The Tym (Russian Тым ) is a 950 km long right tributary of the Ob in western Siberia (Russia, Asia).

Course

The Tym rises about 180 meters above sea level in the southeastern part of the West Siberian lowland, in the area of ​​flat, swampy watershed between the Ob and Yenisei to the west of Krasnoyarsk region. It flows through the lowlands initially in a westerly direction, reached the north-east of Tomsk Oblast and turns there in southwestern direction that it retains to its mouth.

Throughout the Tym meanders strong. He finally ends at the village of Ust- Tym at 42 m height in the Ob. Just ten kilometers above branches off the estuary Radaika which opens a little further north in the Ob - arm Milja.

The most significant tributaries are Wanschil, Podelga, Kossez and Sang Ilka from the right and from the left Polta.

Hydrographic

The river flows through very sparsely populated area. Here lives a good half of Selkups, an indigenous Siberian people. Only in the area of these places there are few unpaved roads; there is no bridge.
