Type 90 Ship-to-Ship Missile

The Type 80 ASM -1 is an airborne anti-ship missile, which is used by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces for coastal defense.

In use, however, showed that it can be used not only against ships, but also against land targets such as buildings, bridges and vehicles. The ASM -1 is equipped with a solid - rocket motor. The target detection is performed by an active radar.

A whole family of anti-ship missiles was developed from the ASM -1.
