Sardinian Disc- ( Discoglossus sardus )

The Sardinian Disc- ( Discoglossus sardus ) is a Froschlurch, of Sardinia, Caprera, La Maddalena, San Pietro, Corsica, Ile Lavezzi, in southeastern France in the Var, on the Îles d' Hyères and Italy, at Monte Argentario in the Tuscany, and is found on the islands of Giglio and Montecristo. It inhabits a variety of terrestrial and aquatic habitats. In Corsica, he lives with the Corsican Disc- and goes in contrast to this in a slightly brackish water. In Corsica, a height distribution was found to 1770 meters ( the upper reaches of Tavignano ). His spawn sets the Sardinian Disc- between aquatic plants into streams.

Features

The Sardinian Disc- differs from its relatives by its more pointed snout Corsican and by its shorter hind legs. Like him, he is 5.5 to 6 inches long and has a pied drawing in different shades of brown usually on. The fourth finger becomes increasingly thinner from the base to the tip.
