Tyrrhenian Wall Lizard ( Podarcis Tiliguerta )

The Tyrrhenian Wall Lizard ( Podarcis Tiliguerta ) is a lizard species from the genus of wall lizards, which is endemic to Corsica, Sardinia and the offshore islands.

Features

The Tyrrhenian wall lizard reaches a total length of 20-25 centimeters. Of this body reaches up to 6.5 inches and her tail about twice the length. Your back is usually greenish -brown with longitudinal patch tape and her mouth is black spotted. Your top is variable, but usually they are gray to gray- brown. The males are greenish with bright back side stripes and black spots. They also often have a longitudinal stripes or a pattern network. They have dark, black-spotted and partly also single blue swab. They also have a whitish, yellowish, orange or red belly. On their side of the head, the upper temporal signs are bent.

Habitat

They are found only in Corsica, Sardinia and the offshore islands. There they live in lowland and mountain areas to about 1800 meters height. They live mainly in dry, rocky, partly -covered mountain slopes or roadsides.

Reproduction

The lizards mate after five to six months of hibernation in April and lay about six to 12 eggs.
