Template: Infobox River / Obsolete

The lamp is a 49 km long, right or southern tributary of the piping in northern Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The river atomic number is 3

Overview

The river, which is located in the south and east of the Altmark, runs entirely on the territory of the district of Stendal. The slope of the lamp is from the source to the mouth about 50 m. Long sections of the lamp were channeled in the course of amelioration.

All waters in the catchment area of the lamp are removed for water regulation to the headwaters. The waters were " deepened, straightened, fastened, forced into a trapezoidal profile " and some are completely gehölzlos. Above Stendal are, primarily due to lack of clarified responsibilities, nearly all 140 dams open to retain the water in the Meliorationskanälen. The flood plain is largely destroyed. Neither the lamp nor its tributaries are as close to nature or only partially assess natural.

Course

The headwaters in Uchtspringe, part of the conservation area " lamp - Tangier resources ", located on the northern edge of the Colbitz - Letzlinger Heath at about 75 m above sea level. NHN. The majority of the water comes here from the source area to the south of Uchtspringe, at the foot of Spring Mountain Hill. The longest Quellarm ( 1.6 km ) west of Uchtspringe arises, however. In the first 10 km, the slope is about 40 m. Since 1335, a water mill on the lamp is operated in Uchtspringer neighboring State. It is still intact and can be visited. From here on, the lamp absorbs large amounts of water through drainage ditches agriculture. From Käthen the lamp valley widens out. To the east, it flows (past Nahrstedt, Möringen and island) up in the city of Stendal.

Only 10 km from the Elbe, the lamp turns Stendal (where it runs partly underground ) to the north. Passing Eichstedt, Small Schwechten and Goldbeck they reached the edge of the Walsleben Wipe, a flat area between the lamp and the Elbe. The passage of light ( from Stendal to Walsleben parallel to the Elbe) now turns to the northwest. About Düsedau it flows Osterburg. Northeast of the city it flows into the piping that continues to flow from Seehausen under the name Aland towards the Elbe.

The surface forms in the catchment area of the lamp are created in the Saale glaciation. Da. In the lowlands, among superficially deposited sands, prevent layers of clay and marl that the rain water penetrates into the substrate, resulting in the formation of waterlogging, resulting in the formation of swamps and shallow, stagnant waters Just above of Stendal, the slope is so low that this is floodplain. It would be possible insofar as a naming analogous to the light spots, whose name is probably due to uct - apa ( swamp or bog water ), are conceivable.
