Ugartsthal

Ugartsthal (Polish since 1939 Tespowo ) is the German name of a former village in Kalush Raion in western Ukraine (Eastern Galicia). It is located in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, and is today a district of Siwka - Kaluska ( Сівка - Калуська ).

Geographical Location

Ugartsthal is situated approximately 7 kilometers west of Rajonshauptstadt Kalush, about one kilometer north of the main town Siwka - Kaluska. To the north are Werchnja ( Верхня ) and Mostyschtsche ( Мостище ), south of the main town Siwka - Kaluska and west Kropywnyk ( Кропивник ). Through the village, the river flows Kropywnyk, north flows the Fornyliw ( Форнилів ), which opens into the Kropywnyk.

History

Ugartsthal was founded in Galicia in 1782 by German settlers. The settlers came from the Palatinate and neighboring Lorraine and Alsace.

Religion

In 1880 years there were 62 houses with 423 inhabitants in the municipality (14 Poles, 43 Ukrainians and 366 German ), of which 43 Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic 3, 365 Protestants and 12 Jews. A Protestant community has been around since 1784, the church dates from 1788. At that community include 3320 believers.

Branches: National Trust, Nowica and Petranka. In the village there was a religious school and a community loan company (income cashier ) with capital 535 zlr ". The name " Ugartsthal " of the village, and other similar places (eg Ugartsberg ) go in the name of contemporary Austrian governor of Moravia, Alois Graf von and Ugarte back.

The name of Ugartsthal was amended by Polish administration in the late 1930s to Tespowo. The village of Landestreuhandstelle simultaneously changed the name to Mazurówka. The register of Bredetzki in Ugartsthal recorded 63 families (327 " souls " - people). The parish included the villages: Ugartsthal, Landestreuhandstelle, Kałusz, New Dolina, Engelberg, Horocholina, Wełdzirz, Stanisławów Bohorodczany, Grabowiec, Sołotwina, Nowica, Petranka, Krasna.
