Uhlandstraße (Hamburg U-Bahn station)

Metro Station Uhland Street is a stop on the Hamburg U -Bahn line U3 in the Hohenfelde district.

Construction and location

The station Uhland Street is an elevated station. It is located on the south side of the eponymous street. There is also access to the two approximately 120 -meter-long side platforms on fixed stairs. The northern part is covered by a station concourse. South crosses the station Güntherstraße, here there is no possibility of access to the platforms. On the east side of the station there is a passage under the arch between Güntherstraße and the station entrance at the Uhland Road.

History

The distance to the station was built in 1911. In March 1912, the operation could be added to the former ring line of the elevated railway. Several times, the platform was extended in a southerly direction. Its present length of about 120 meters was necessary for the operation of U2, the wrong here 1973-2009 with long trains ( 8-/9-Wagen-Zügen ). Since 2009 Uhland Road is again operated in the ring operation of the U3, on this line go only 80 meters long trains.

The metro traffic completely stopped because Rekonstruierungsarbeiten in the field Uhland Street for a few months - In the summer of 2011 - after almost 100 years of operation. During this time, among other things, the bridge were exchanged via the Güntherstraße and the station completely renovated.
