Ulrich " Uli " Roth ( * February 15, 1962 in Heidelberg ) is a former German handball player.

Career

Handball

Ulrich Roth began in his youth together with his twin brother Michael at SG Leutershausen with the handball matches, for which he later ran aground in the second handball league. In 1982 he moved to first division MTSV Schwabing, with whom he was in the Saison1985/86 runner-up and the DHB Cup won in 1986. From 1987 to 1990 played the 1.96 -meter circle runners at the TV Großwallstadt, with the 1989 again won the DHB Cup and 1990 German champion. He then went back to meanwhile ascended to the first division SG Leutershausen with which he was runner-up in 1992.

Ulrich Roth in 1983 vice-champion with the national junior team. For the German men's national handball team, he played 151 matches in which he threw 290 goals. He participated in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, where he won a silver medal, as well as at the World Cup 1986.

Ulrich Roth since 1997 Manager of the musical group Pur. He is Chairman of the 2nd SG Leutershausen and Athletic Director and Head of Marketing at game -GmbH of the first team of SG Leutershausen.

Others

Uli Roth's father Oskar Roth took over as 63facher Basketball National Player of four European basketball championships, won nine German Basketball Championships (3 × with the Heidelberg Turnerbund, 6 × with USC Heidelberg), and has as a handball player 1966 German Vice Champion with the SG Leutershausen.

2009 diseased Ulrich Roth and his brother Michael almost simultaneously from prostate cancer. They processed the disease in the book Our Life - Our disease.
