Ulrika Pasch

Ulrika Pasch Fredrika (* July 10, 1735 in Stockholm, † April 2, 1796 ibid ) was a Swedish painter.

Ulrika Pasch was born into a well-known Swedish artist family. Her father was the portrait painter Lorenz Pasch the Elder (1702-1766), her older brother, the painter Lorenz Pasch the Younger ( 1733-1802 ). Ulrika's uncle was the court painter Johan Pasch ( 1706-1769 ).

Ulrika Pasch showed as a child a special talent for drawing and painting. Like her brother, Lawrence, she was taught by her father. When her brother was staying in the 1750s abroad, she provided her father and her sister. At the same time she was employed as a housekeeper for a maternal uncle who gave her great artistic freedom. Since 1756 she officially joined as a professional painter in appearance. With own portraits and paintings she earned the family an important extra income in little wealthy circumstances.

After returning her brother to Stockholm in 1766 they continued to develop their skills and had already made a name in the higher circles of Sweden. She often worked with her ​​brother. Ulrika's workmanship is according to that of her brother in nothing. 1773 chose the Royal Academy of Painting and sculpture both to its members.
