Johan Pasch

Johan Pasch ( born March 12, 1706, the † January 16, 1769 ) was a Swedish painter of the Rococo period.

He was the uncle of Lorenz Pasch the Younger and Ulrika Pasch and brother of Lorenz Pasch the Elder ( all three painters ).

He learned in Stockholm and abroad in Holland and Paris.

He was from 1748 a Swedish court painter and from 1758 Hofintendant. He painted mainly interiors with allegorical motifs. For example, he completed the ceiling painting in the chapel in Stockholm ( a job that still Guillaume Taraval had started ). Next he painted in Stockholm Palace and Drottningholm and in the St. Jacob's Church in Stockholm. In his picture he presented Honstavlan ladies as chicken dar.

In 1740 he revisited Paris and Italy from 1755 to 1758.
