Ulrike Malmendier

Ulrike Malmendier ( born August 1973) is a German professor of economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focus is behavioral economics. Malmendier counts according to the IDEAS list to the 5 % of the most cited economists.

From 1991 to 1993 she trained at Deutsche Bank. She studied on a scholarship from the Study Foundation of the German people of Economics and Law. After a law doctorate at the University of Bonn in 2000 she received her doctorate in 2002 for a second time at Harvard University. From 2002 to 2006 she worked as an assistant professor at Stanford University. Since 2006 she has taught at Berkeley, where she holds a position as associate professor since 2008.

In 2013 her the Fischer Black Prize was awarded.

She is married to Stefano DellaVigna and has three children (* 2008, 2010, 2012).
