Ultra-Romanticism

Ultra - Romantismo is a term which in the Portuguese literary criticism since the 1830s (A. Feliciano de Castilho, Almeida Garrett ) is used, it is similar to the concept of romance blacks the German and English literary history.

From Teófilo Braga it was introduced in the Portuguese literature, and is now used to pejorative characterization of mediävalisierenden horror romantic with its castles, horrible oaths at midnight, cruel feudal lords, but also crusaders and troubadours and unfortunate lovers who pay for their sinful passion in monastic solitude.
