Umingmaktok

Umingmaktuk ( "like a musk ox ", formerly known as Bay Chimo Harbour ), Nunavut, Kitikmeot region is more of a traditional Inuit camp than a town situated at the eastern shore of Bathurst Inlet, just before its confluence with the Coronation Gulf, 121 kilometers northeast Bathurst Inlet Lodge, 193 kilometers southwest of Cambridge Bay.

The settlement began in 1964, when the Hudson's Bay Company their Bathurst Inlet Trading Post gave up and moved to Bay Chimo ( him but then in 1968 finally gave up ). At the site are now a Co -op store, a few warehouses, a one-class school and a gravel airstrip for small planes.
