In Under My Thumb, the singer describes marked by mutual power games relation to a young woman. This had formerly exercised a dominant influence on him, is now, however, as the singer claimed that under his thumb (English: to be under someone's thumb ). This is also reflected by the provocative statements such as Is not it the truth babe? or just take it easy babe expression. Perhaps this is also an allusion to a former American law that allows the husband to whip his wife, as long as the whip has a smaller diameter than his thumb ( thumb ).
