Name and history
In the English -speaking world is the Grinner knot under the name Uni Knot or Duncan Loop - after its inventor, Norman Duncan - known. Popular the Grinner knot was in the 1960 ies after a publication in the Miami Herald.
Application
With a Grinner node can attach the fishing line to fishing hooks, rings or eyelets, you can also attach the fishing line to the reel. With two Grinner node can join two fishing lines. With a Grinner node allows the connection backing or leader make a fly line.
Special
If the Grinner knot tied with not quite be delayed loop at plugs, flies, or other lures, these baits can switch back and herwedeln which makes them appear more alive than at a fixed installation. The loop runs to under heavy load. This can be beneficial in braided lines ( buffer action in case of sudden hard jerk).
