The Unidad Académica Campesina -Carmen Pampa (UAC -Carmen Pampa ) is a campus of the Catholic University of Bolivia and was founded in 1993 to combat rural poverty in Bolivia. It is located in the small community of Carmen Pampa, 12 kilometers away from the town of Coroico.

History

The UAC -Carmen Pampa was founded on October 3, 1993 by Damon Nolan sister, a nun of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Third Order of the Franciscans. The university started as part of a consortium of rural agencies of the Catholic University of Bolivia, called UACs ( Unidades Académicas Campesina ), founded to teach the poor of the rural area. 2010, the University was declared the independent campus of the Catholic University of Bolivia. The university offered first technical degrees in the courses of study agronomy, Verterinär-/Tierwissenschaften and nursing. 1998 increased the UAC -Carmen Pampa their offer a " licenciatura ". In 2003 the offer of a licenciatura 's degree in primary education, 2006, the offer of a technical degree in tourism. In 1999, the Carmen Pampa Fund was established a foundation to provide the UAC -Carmen Pampa support. It has its headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.

2003 recognized the United States of UAC -Carmen Pampa, to be an institution with " best practices for Bekämpfungen of poverty". Mission
