Unimate

Unimate was the first industrial robot. He was employed from 1961 by General Motors in New Jersey in production. Here manipulated and he welded pressure castings for automotive bodies. Unimate was constructed based on the U.S. Patent 2988237 of George Devol. Devol founded together with Joseph F. Engelberg Unimation, the world's first manufacturer of robots.
