Union for Homeland

The Union for the home country ( Arabic الإتحاد من أجل الوطن al -Ittihad al - Watan min adschl ) is a political party in Libya, founded in 2012. Their stronghold is the Munizip Misrata.

The party is led by Abdurrahman Sewehli, a prominent opponent of the former leader Muammar Gaddafi. The Union supports a strict decentralization of power at the local level, but rejects federalism. It proposes a semi- presidential system, which is based on the French model. She calls for a consistent break with the old regime and wants to banish personalities from the political influence that held item among Gadaffi government.

The Union for the home country won in the election for the Libyan National Congress 2012, two of 80 seats.
