Unión San Felipe

Club de Deportes Unión San Felipe is a Chilean football club based in San Felipe. The association, which once Chilean football champion to date, currently plays in the Primera División and plays its home games at the Estadio Municipal de San Felipe, which seats 12,000 spectators.

History

Unión San Felipe was founded on 16 October 1956 in the Chilean town of San Felipe. After two years in lower leagues succeeded Unión San Felipe 1958, the first-time promotion to the Segunda División in Chile. In 1961, they rose in the Primera División, the top division in Chilean football, on. There, the club was able to establish and reached in the next few years seats in the lower middle, but always submitted to the league. It was not until 1968 they rose from the Primera División from. This is Unión San Felipe until today the only club in Chilean football, who won the second and first division in two consecutive years.

Started as a defending champion in the 1972 season, Unión San Felipe had huge problems and could barely hold the class at the end of two points separated the club from the bottom team relegated and Everton.
