United Communist Party of Georgia

The United Communist Party of Georgia (Georgian: Sakartvelos Ertiani Komunisturi partia ) is a political party in Georgia. It was founded in 1994 by a union of the Stalin Society, the Georgian Communist Workers' Party and the Union of Georgian communists.

Chairman of the party is Panteleimon Giorgadze. His son Igor Giorgadze was from 1993 to 1995 Minister of State Security of Georgia, 1995 went into exile in Russia, after he was accused of plotting to assassinate the then Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze. In 2000 he tried to compete with the Georgian presidential election as the candidate of his father's party.

The party publishes the newspaper Komunisti.
