United Nations Security Council Resolution 1801

The resolution extended the mandate of the AU peacekeeping mission AMISOM for a further six months, and emphasizes their contributions to peace in Somalia. It condemns the ongoing violence in the country and hostilities against the AMISOM troops and expresses the concern of the Security Council at the growing piracy off the Somali coast from. They also welcomed the appointment of the new Prime Minister of the transitional government of Somalia Nur Hassan Hussein and his reshuffle of the Cabinet.

The resolution was adopted by the UN Security Council at its 5842nd meeting.
