United States Army Installation Management Command

The United States Army Installation Management Command ( IMCOM ) is a major command of the United States Army (specification: Direct Reporting Unit). It supports the troops of the army with services and infrastructure. The headquarters is located at Fort Sam Houston (Texas ).

History

The command was set up on 24 October 2006. The reason for this was to streamline the command structure, so that the following units were incorporated into the IMCOM:

1 ) Installation Management Agency (IMA ) 2 ) Community and Family Support Center ( now Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command ( FMWRC ) renamed) 3 ) Army Environmental Center (now in Army Environmental Command ( AEC) was renamed ).

Before the formation of the IMCOM 184 Army facilities were led by 15 major commands.

Construction

The IMCOM is divided into geographical regions / garrisons:

  • Installation Management Command Pacific Region
  • Installation Management Command Europe Region
  • Installation Management Command Korea Region
