United States presidential nominating convention

The nomination party conventions ( National Convention ) are among the highlights of the election year in the U.S.. These national party conventions, traditionally held in summer, vote, delegates of the states from about the presidential candidate of the party. In practice, there are political folk festivals that take place according to a well planned drama. From their once central importance of these events have now lost a lot, since the outcome is determined earlier today ( by the month-long primary campaign ). Originally this was not so: the primaries - the numerous caucuses and primaries - should provide only a opinion which candidate has the best chance. The actual decision but should fall only on the nominating convention. The parties use the nomination party conventions today, especially for advertising to attract the attention of media and public on their candidates.
