United States Secretary of the Army

The United States Secretary of the Army ( SECARM ) is responsible for all administrative and technical issues of the United States Army. He heads the Department of the Army (German: Army Office ) within the Department of Defense ( Defense ) and reports directly to the Minister of Defence.

Formation

Until 18 September 1947, the Cabinet SECARM status had, then he had only the rank of Secretary of State. He is appointed by the President of the United States and confirmed by the Senate.

Organization and order

The SECARM is responsible for implementation of all Army matters. This includes all administrative and technical organizational issues, human resources, budgeting, equipment issues (procurement and supply services) and maintenance, training and mobilization and Demobilisierungsfragen.
