Unity Party (South Ossetia)

Unit ( Ossetian Иудзинад; Russian Единство ) is a political party in the internationally recognized by few countries Republic of South Ossetia. She is currently the strongest political force in the South Ossetian Parliament. Politically, the party closely follows the Russian government United Russia party, with which one has also signed a cooperation agreement.

History

Unit was founded in 2003 and supported the then president of the country, Eduard Kokoity. and has since emerged as the winner in the parliamentary elections in South Ossetia in 2004 and also in the parliamentary elections of 2009. In the presidential elections in South Ossetia in 2011, however, the party had to suffer a defeat, as the independent candidate Alla Dschiojewa clearly prevailed against the supported unit Anatoli Bibilow.
