University of Guyana

The University of Guyana ( UG ) ( University of Guyana) opened its doors on October 2, 1963 in Georgetown. At that time the University was visited in evening classes, and had only three teaching units in the program - arts, science and social science.

Meanwhile, the university has been enlarged. On May 27, 1994, a dormitory was built with 40 rooms, so students here have a place to learn and sleeping from the area of Guyana. A second and third dormitory were added to provide space for further 46 students. The university is divided into Turkeyen campus and Tain Campus.

In the UG about 5,000 students are now enrolled in the fields of agriculture, art, education, science, medicine, social science and technology.
