The University of Huelva (Spanish: Universidad de Huelva or Universidad onubense ) - short UHU - with approximately 10,000 students (2007) one of the smaller state universities in Spain and has its headquarters in the city of Huelva in Andalusia. The university was the mid-1990s by the University of Seville independently and is located in many places still under construction. Among other things, around 220 Erasmus students studying in almost all EU countries.

Infrastructure
Campus del Carmen
The Campus del Carmen is the largest of the four university areas. It is located on the outskirts of the city, and was a few years ago by the military (infantry ) used. This is where most of the courses are located, as well as sports facilities, canteen and some service facilities ( engineering office, student office, etc.). A kindergarten and a new auditorium are currently under construction. The final completion of the campus is planned for 2009 [ deprecated].
Campus La Merced
La Merced is actually the Cathedral of Huelva. As a growing mind, however, a hospital was created, which is today used by the University, especially economics. La Rabida
A little outside of the city here are mainly engineering home ( Polytechnic College ).
Cuadrado
Oldest university institution in the city. Dates back to the 1960s, when the university was still a part of the University of Seville, and here was held teacher training. Today the building exclusively for administrative tasks ( near the main fire station ).

Sports & sports classes
Besides offering regular sports courses and the organization of varsity teams, the university also offers the possibility to rent tennis and paddle courts, equipment or gyms quite favorable. A tennis court is € 2 per hour. The price for participation in the courses vary from free (especially team sports ) and a maximum of 40 € per semester ( for students), exceptions are of course the excursions. Generally, courses and teams are also open for university foreign persons. In addition, training courses for sports theory and amateur coaches offered.
Language Courses
The university offers for students enrolled courses in Portuguese, Russian, German, English, French, Chinese and Italian. Depending on the number of participants, there are differentiations of the levels. For foreign students there are Spanish courses (usually on the six different CEFR levels). For Erasmus students they are free. In addition, each offered in February and September intensive language courses that are intended and suitable mainly as a preparation for the semester (but not free).
