The University of Réunion (French: Université de La Réunion ) is a public university on the French island of Réunion. As the only university in the Indian Ocean, it offers European-standard bachelor's and master's degree programs and doctoral studies.

Its history goes back to a private university founded in 1970. Initially, there were three faculties in the areas of business law and the humanities and natural sciences. In 1982 it was transformed into a full university.

The university buildings with a total area of ​​80,000 sqm spread over the sites of Saint -Denis, Le Tampon and Saint- Pierre.
