University of Shizuoka

The prefecture Shizuoka University (Japanese静冈 県 立 大学, Shizuoka kenritsu daigaku ) is a public university in Japan. The main campus is located in Yada, Suruga -ku, Shizuoka in Shizuoka Prefecture.

History

The university was founded in 1987 by the merger of the three prefectural universities. The three were the pharmaceutical Shizuoka University (静冈 薬 科 大学, Shizuoka yakka daigaku ), the wife of University of Shizuoka (静冈 女子 大学, Shizuoka joshi daigaku, founded in 1967 ) and the Women's Short Shizuoka University (静冈 女子 短期 大学, Shizuoka joshi tanki daigaku, founded 1951).

The university had four faculties first ( pharmacy, dietetics, and International Relations, economics and computer science ) and the Department of Short University. In 1989, the University (except the Department of Short University ) in the new Yada campus. In 1996, she continued the Faculty of Nursing Science.

The Pharmaceutical Shizuoka University was founded in 1916 as a private pharmaceutical Women's School Shizuoka (静冈 女子 薬 学校, Shizuoka joshi yaku Gakko ). The founder was an ophthalmologist. The school survived the hard times after the death of the founder (1925 ). In March 1945, she became the wife Pharmaceutical Management School Shizuoka (静冈 女子 薬 学 専 门 学校, Shizuoka joshi Yakugaku Semmon Gakko ). In 1950, she was a mixed ( co-educational ) school and changed its name to Pharmaceutical Trade School Shizuoka. From 1952 she was carried from the Shizuoka Prefecture.

In 1953 she became the Pharmaceutical Shizuoka University, a prefectural university. Your former campus is now the Oshika- campus by the Department of the short university.
