University of the Bío Bío

The University of Bío -Bío (Spanish: Universidad del Bío -Bío ) is a university in Concepción and belongs to the traditional universities of Chile.

History

The University was founded, under whose umbrella all technical schools in the country were summarized in 1947 as a campus of the Universidad Técnica Concepción del Estado ( UTE ). In 1980, the campus was part of a nationwide reform of the universities to the University Bío -Bío.

In its present form, the University was established in 1988 by the Instituto Profesional de union with Chillán, which consists of the campus founded in 1966 Ñuble the Universidad de Chile ( UCh ) had emerged.

The university was certified in 2009 by the National Commission on Accreditation ( Comisión Nacional de Acreditación ). The certification covers the areas of administration, teaching, research and social services and is granted for five years until 2014.
