University of Tokushima

The University of Tokushima (徳 岛 大学jap, Tokushima daigaku ) in Tokushima, Tokushima Prefecture is one of the most respected Japanese national universities. It was founded in 1949. The University consists of the campus Shinkura (新 蔵), which houses the administration, Jōsanjima (常 三岛) and Kuramoto (蔵 本).

History

The University of Tokushima was founded in 1949 by the merger of six state schools. The six were:

  • The Medical University of Tokushima (徳 岛 医科大学, Tokushima ika daigaku )
  • The Medical School Tokushima (徳 岛 医学 専 门 学校, Tokushima Igaku Semmon Gakko )
  • High school Tokushima (徳 岛 高等学校, Tokushima Kōtō Gakko )
  • The pilot Tokushima (徳 岛 工业 専 门 学校, Tokushima Kōgyō Semmon Gakko )
  • The normal school Tokushima (徳 岛 师范学校, Tokushima shihan Gakko ), and
  • Youth Normal School Tokushima (徳 岛 青年 师范学校, Tokushima his shihan Gakko ).

In 1986, the Faculty of Education of the Faculty of interdisciplinary science because the teacher training courses in the College of Education, Naruto (鸣 门 教育 大学, Naruto Kyoiku daigaku; founded in 1981 ) were added.

The Medical University of Tokushima

The Medical College was founded in 1943 as a prefectural medical school. In April 1945, she was a public school. The Great Hospital were in today's campus Shinkura; in July 1945, but during the Pacific War it was damaged. So in 1947 the school was insufficiently appreciated ( The third and fourth classes [= clinician ] were reorganized into the high school Tokushima ). 1948 developed the technical school is to Tokushima Medical School and the new school building ( former military base ) were built in the Kuramoto Campus.

The Medical University of Tokushima, Tokushima, the Medical school and high school Tokushima were the predecessors of the Faculty of Medicine.

The technical Tokushima

The pilot plant was established in 1922 as a Higher Technical School Tokushima (徳 岛 高等 工业 学校, Tokushima Kōtō Kōgyō Gakko ). She lay in today's campus Jōsanjima. 1944, the school was renamed in technical Tokushima. The pilot had courses in Civil Engineering, Machine Design, electronics, chemical engineering and pharmacy; it was the only Japanese government lab that had courses in pharmacy, because born in Jōsanjima Nagayoshi chemist Nagai (长 井 长 义, 1844-1929 ) advised the Ministry of Education the establishment. The school was the predecessor of the faculties of engineering and pharmacy.

The Normal School Tokushima

The normal school was established in the former castle Tokushima in 1874. At first she was a prefectural school. In 1899 she moved to the present campus Jōsanjima. In 1943, she became the State Pedagogical Technical School. You and the Youth Normal School Tokushima ( founded in 1922 ) were the predecessors of the Faculty of Education.
