The University of Vaasa ( fi.Vaasan yliopisto, swe.Vasa universitet ) is a multidisciplinary university in Vaasa, Finland. The campus is located on the Gulf of Bothnia, which borders the city center. The University of Vaasa has four faculties:

  • Faculty of Economics
  • Faculty of Arts
  • Faculty of Engineering

The University of Vaasa goes back to a business school in 1966. She was finally granted the status of a university in 1992 after annexation of the other faculties.

The Faculty of Economics ( also called Vaasa School of Economics ) is one of the largest in Finland. The university has 5,000 students and 425 employees, including 180 teachers and 54 professors.

Campus

The university is located on Palosaari (Eng. fire island). Each building has its own name, for example, was one of them used to be a cotton factory and accordingly called Fabriiki (German factory). The main building is (Eng. Teerhof ) called Tervahovi, another Luotsi (German Pilot). Furthermore, there is the library Tritonia, the University shares with the other universities of the city, as well as the laboratory facility Technobothnia. She is also the other two Vaasaer universities of applied sciences are available.

The entire complex is located directly beside the sea and is surrounded by smaller farms.
