Uno Cygnaeus
Uno Cygnaeus (also Cygnaeus, born October 12, 1810 in Tavastehus; † January 2, 1888 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish educator and Regional school.
Cygnaeus considered the "father of the Finnish elementary school ." His idea of the general education system was originally from Germany. Cygnaeus classified music lessons as a very important subject. In his opinion, the repertoire of music teaching should include both secular and spiritual ways. Cygnaeus was also the founder of the factory class ( Sloyd ) in Scandinavia.
His brother Fredrik Cygnaeus was a Swedish-speaking poet.
